Tap to Pay / Touchless options at check out
Angie Coombs
Can you please prioritize adding Tap to Pay capabilities to the system? Everyone saw how a majority of the businesses transitioned to touchless payment options during and after the pandemic. Customers complain that our system is "not with the times." We currently use BBPos Chippers, as locally we are prohibited from using magnetic reader and chip readers are required, but these are fully capable of accepting tap to pay. This adds to customer frustration because the tap to pay symbol is on the card reader and they can visibly see that. Also, many customers opt not to carry physical cards and prefer to pay with the card information stored on their phones or smart watches. Now, I personally don't agree with a cashless system, but we do need to offer these options to patrons to help expedite the check out process.

You need to switch to Clearent as your processor and you can do this.

Magstripes will be phased out by Mastercard starting in 2027, and we will have to switch to EMV card readers, which offer more security.

We use Sportsman, and global payments for processing and we are able to use tap to pay and apple/google pay.

We get a request for this almost everyday. Especially from our younger patrons and families.

I would guess that virtually every Sportsman user would want these upgrades. We hear it every day.
