Erin Moore nailed it. Jordan .... not saying the field needs to go away .... just not mandatory. If you don't have a name of a contact, right now you are forced to put something there.

Joanne Iachetta: Makes total sense. We are looking at making those fields non-required. I'll get back to everybody on this board as soon as we have some movement on it!

Joanne Iachetta and Kathy Wallace looking at this now. Trying to understand the benefit of not having somebody listed as the main contact for the business. Will you help me understand the business case here?

Jordan Walker I placed a comment on a different thread earlier - similar in nature. Business contact change frequently. Sometimes our department only wants the name of the business so that we have their information on file - If i want to create an activity for all banks in my town, I could add them to my database, but I don't necessarily have a contact person. I may just want to add them to an activity so I can create labels for future sponsorship opportunities. Business contacts turnover a lot and sometimes it's easier just to have the general business information listed in Sportsman vs a mandatory contact name. (Also on this note- please remove the function where you have to attach a current member in sportsman to the business account. We would rather keep personal accounts separated from business accounts)

Jordan Walker in my case i want the name of the high school listed or business and then create family members that might be the track team or baseball. The contact will change or may already have a personal account eith us. You can put the specific contacts in the notes if necessary and chsnge it as needed.

Kathy Wallace Great point! So this is something you can actually already do. Once the Organization/Business is created, you can add as many points of contact to it as you need.
That box will be on the upper right hand side where you can add those points of contact.

Yes, the point of having the business name is for it to be the primary name you see at the top of the screen.
