A Reference number added to each line item in a quote / order would be very helpful. The Ref number should be auto generated in numerical order pertaining to the quote or should be able for preparer to generate the number of their choosing. Very often customers send requests for work needed that has the same scope but will require a different price even though it looks like the same on paper. Example 8" thick concrete cut longitudinally would cost far less than 8" concrete cut transverse. IT's very common the customer referenced the difference via Reference number and not Longitudinal vs Transverse format. This would allow the specific Reference Numbered line-item work to be easily followed from bidding, to work performed to invoicing all by following the reference number and not only by the described work.
